Top moments in Vancouver's Opening Ceremony

Unforgettable ceremony of Vancouver

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, has become worldly famous because of the opening ceremony of the winter 2010 Olympics. The crowd at the 2010 Olympics ceremony was worthy to see. Though in comparison with the Beijing Olympic crowd it was small, but it was more then enough for Vancouver. Some say that opening ceremony of 2010 winter Olympics was one of the best events ever been organised.

 The cauldron that wouldn't rise

some very famous Former players were given the honour, like, hockey star Wayne Gretzky, Alpine skiing legend Nancy ,two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash and Green were able to glow their cauldrons, but one interesting thing happened that ,speedskater Catriona Lemay Doan was left with her flame when the 4th torch failed to come out from below  the  stadium. I would say this was an upsetting end; otherwise it was a fascinating opening ceremony. You will agree that this ceremony must be remembered more because of the cauldron that wouldn't rise.

 Comments from Rogge

The next awesome moment was the tributes given to GEORGIAN LUGER NODAR KUMARITASHVILI, who unfortunately died on Friday morning in between doing a practice run at Whistler. In the IOC's defence, it's really difficult to add a last minute respect to such a wonderful ceremony that has been scripted down to 2nd., but still organizers should have ended more than a silence moment that was a few seconds long and some unthinking comments from Rogge to the billions of audience watching this opening ceremony at homes and in the Vancouver.

Native Canadian were honoured

Interestingly the first 5 minutes of opening ceremony was given to honouring the native people of Canada. We see many different tribes introducing their culture and promoting their traditions. It was really nice to see. When the parades were finished, there were also some very innovative and high tech performances as well and were really great.

 Nations parade

One another different thing happened in Vancouver opening Olympic ceremony on Friday night was the parade of the participating nations. Usually the trend is that this parade held in the later half of the opening ceremony because of the some awesome performances done at the beginning. But here in Vancouver opening ceremony we see a good change that participating nations parade was done at the beginning of the ceremony of Olympics 2010, and after that all athletes were made to sit and to watch all the stage related performances comfortably. Otherwise they had to stand and wait for the beginning performances to end for the nation’s parade.

.Rocky Mountains

Skiers descended and snowboarders from the roof of BC, in the highlight of the unforgettable performances at the Opening Ceremony, position on wires in a inspiring tribute to specially Rocky Mountains and Western Canada.

.The amazing floor

Land of ice almost broke spaced out and the floor of British Columbia was turned as it was a virtual ocean in which big fishes swam across. The floor was looking unbelievably beautiful and attractive. The use of 2D and 3D made the opening ceremony more fascinating. In conclusion I would say it was a great great effort in a small budget, if you compare it with the Beijing Olympics. Great Vancouver!
